Taihape Playcentre parents and
children are looking forward to a
great start to this year, with sessions
on Monday and Wednesday
mornings, 9am till noon for children
aged birth to 6 years.
Playcentre philosophy supports
children's learning through child-
initiated play and parents and the
co-ordinator empower the learning
by following the interest and
building on their learning. Children
freely select their own play rather
than being told what to do, how to
do or how long to take to do it. This
gives the freedom to choose an
activity, take time to finish it and
share the learning with others.
Parent Education is offered free,
which helps parents gain a better
understanding of the needs,
development and ways to extend
their children's learning.
Taihape Playcentre starts 2012
with a new slide on their fort. The
purchase of this slide was made
possible by a grant received from
the Thomas Beresford McCarthy
Trust and a Christmas night
fundraiser held at The Christmas
Heirloom Company in-store at Wild
The Playcentre thanks the Taihape
Community for their support in 2011
and looks forward to continuing
support in the coming year.
There is loads of fun at Taihape
Playcentre, and great learning
opportunities for all children from
0-6 years. The fun part is learning
alongside your children, observing
them explore, experiment and grow.
Visitors are welcome to drop-in on
any session to learn what a happy
interactive place Playcentre is.
